Ida and Old Baldy's Seniors Theatre

ABOUT
The Project

Ida and Old Baldy’s Seniors’ Theatre Project is an outgrowth of a program which has been running in Salmon Arm and Sorrento, British Columbia, for the past three years. We have been funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program to create a handbook which is designed to assist other groups in developing seniors’ programs of their own.

To this end, the seniors’ theatre sessions were documented through video clips, photographs and note-taking. The end result is this handbook.

This project culimated in a worshop where we introduced the project to people who were interested in starting a senior’s theatre program of their own. It ran on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 10:00 until 2:00 at Shuswap Theatre, 41 Hudson Ave NW in Salmon Arm, BC. We ran through many of the exercises and activities that we had done during the year. There was no cost for the workshop, all of the participants were just expected to bring their own lunch.

It was one crazy time!
